Vocal 1: Beginning & Intermediate Girls' Chorus
This class is mainly for female singers in grades 9-10. We will be working on musicianship, vocal technique, and choral literature daily. Students will learn how to manage their breath, read music, sing in three part harmony, and work well in a group. Students may sign up for one semester or year-long.
Vocal 2: Men's Chorus
This class is for male singers in grades 9-12. We will be working on musicianship, vocal technique, and choral literature daily. Students will learn how to manage their breath, read music, sing in four part harmony, and sing well in a group. Students may sign up for one semester or year-long.
Vocal 3: Honors Women's Chorus (Blues in the Knight)
This class is mainly for female singers in grades 11-12. We will be working on musicianship, vocal technique, and choral literature daily. Students should have basic music notation knowledge, prior vocal experience, and be a good vocal leader. Students in this class are expected to sight-sing daily and sing in 4+ parts. Students must audition for this group and sign up for chorus year-long.
*Chorus students may receive Honors Credit after taking four semesters of Chorus. They are eligible to receive Honors credit their 5th and 7th semesters participating in Chorus, no matter whether they are in Vocal 1, 2, or 3.
